William Wallace Rose ( 1889-1969 ) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . He received his STD from Tufts College in 1912, attended Harvard Divinity School in 1913 and Yale University in 1916, and received his DD from St. Lawrence University in 1928 . Rose also received an honorary DD from the Crane Theological School of Tufts University in 1952 .
